About region
The Krasnodar region is located in the western part of the Greater Caucasus on the Black Sea coast. This is Russia’s southernmost region, the land of two seas — the sea of Azov and the Black Sea, the largest resort and tourist region in the country. In this unique part of Russia a beach holiday may be combined with mountain hiking. There are about 150 tourist itineraries with 130 natural, cultural and historical landmarks passing through the foothills, mountains and sea resorts.
There are several wildlife sanctuaries and the Caucasian State Nature Biosphere Reserve on the territory of Krasnodar region.
The region offers all the necessary facilities for diving, windsurfing and rafting. Ecological, cultural, ethnographic, gastronomу and event tourism are well developed in the region. For example, tourists may see elite vineyards, visit wineries, talk to wine makers.
Modern health facilities and a large variety of natural resources for treatment help to develop health and wellness tours with the use of the most recent techniques.
The resort Sochi, the Olympic city of 2014 Winter Olympic Games, is situated in the Krasnodar region.
